The Hari Hotel Residency Exhibition
Location: London Belgravia, England
The Hari and ArtULTRA are delighted to announce the forthcoming exhibition of Emmanuel Unaji and Matilde Merli, two artists who have been in residence at The Hari from 26 April to 28 May 2021. After months of lockdown, luxury hospitality and emerging artists have joined forces to spearhead London’s artistic renaissance.
From 24 June to 1 November 2021, both artists are exhibiting their work in The Hari Bar, as well as in the large window at the front of the hotel. The exhibition showcases 11 artworks created during the artists’ residency.
During the residency, Emmanuel studied the contradictory essence of images and reality; asking: Is what we see a reflection of what the subject experiences? By combining illustration, drawing and painting the series will mechanically deconstruct selected images to illustratively reverse engineer the unconscious bias applied to protagonist’s within painting and photography.
Art has long been in the DNA of The Hari and the exposed brick walls of the lobby and The Hari Bar host an impressive collection of contemporary works on a curated rolling programme.
